The end of summer is sadly approaching and while the days are still feeling warm outside, we all know that once September starts, fall will arrive directly after. By the end of July, custom clothiers start receiving the new fall fabric books and encourage clients to plan ahead for the fall season.
Late summer and early fall is a great time to start planning your fall wardrobe, as you have full access to every fabric without the worry of a fabric being sold out.
COLOUR TO MATCH THE SEASONRICH, COMFORTING EARTH TONESWhile summer is vibrant, chromatic and features great contrasts, fall is a time for deeper earth tones. Fabrics are more subdued, focusing more on how the texture of the fabric coincides with the surrounding change in weather. Colours like camel, olive, burgundy, rust, chocolate and harvest gold are all phenomenal colours to choose from for the season. On the top, we showcased a beautiful soft grey suit with a chocolate brown windowpane. This mix of grey and brown has been a recurring colour scheme this season by fabric mills. |

While the summer season may not be over yet, we believe in being proactive, especially when it comes to your appearance. Shopping for custom clothing in advance for the next season is the best way to stay ready and avoid fabrics being sold out.
ESSENTIAL ELEGANCEDOUBLE BREASTED SUITSIf you look at three of the suits we have showcased here, you'll notice that double breasted suits are going to be another big essential for this season. While these suits are stylish all year round, they are particularly in style for fall due to their practical reasons. The fabric is layered over itself and the suit should always stay buttoned, keeping everything put together and keeping you warmer. Visually, this suit enhances your look by slimming the silhouette of your profile while ensuring that the lapels accentuate your chest. Another great option this season for layering is the "vested suit" The light grey windowpane suit beside the text features an shawl lapel asymmetrical waistcoat. |
FOOTWEAR FOR FALL FASHIONDRESS BOOTS THAT OFFER BOTH STYLE & FUNCTIONWhile the loafer was the shoe of the summer, the dress boot is our pick for the shoe of the fall. Whether cap toe, chelsea, brogue or chukka, these boots pair beautifully with heavier fabrics and will help you brave the unpredictable weather of the season. Most of these boots will feature a rubber style bottom with grips in order to be worn in harsher wet conditions whether rain or snow. These details make the boots a necessary addition to your fall wardrobe and they are just as easy to wear to work as a regular pair of dress shoes. |
THE PERFECT FALL FASHION TIEWOOL TIES TO BALANCE TEXTUREThis season, to coincide with the first essential of heavier fabrics we listed in this article, wool ties are great way to compliment these heavier suits and jackets. Visually, it simply looks odd pairing a heavy fabric suit with a silk tie. Sharing the same texture, weight and feel of the suit fabrics they are coordinated with, wool ties are staples in your fall wardrobe and smartly investing in neutral coloured solid wool ties are a great starting point. Examples like the chocolate brown, navy and charcoal grey ties showcased here are a fantastic starting point as they can be paired with virtually anything. |
